Youth-centric LGBTQ program providing support and guidance to South Jersey teens.
Kaleidoscope In Carlsbad New Mexico
Kaleidoscope is a community-based Gay-Straight Alliance. Kaleidoscope offers monthly student-led meetings in a safe, supportive environment for LGBTQ+ and allied teens to gather, socialize, organize, and help each other.
As the only youth-centric LGBTQ program in South Jersey, this center fills a void in the community for teens who are exploring their sexuality/gender identity/expression. It will allow those attending schools without a Gay-Straight Alliance to seek support and guidance, and serve to help unify area GSAs in planning out of school events such as a GSA Forum or GSA Prom.
Like coloured bits of glass in a kaleidoscope, these are all being 'turned' into new arrangements, patterns, and possibilities through globalization.Even as neoliberalism changes global social relations, so urban religion itself is changing. Kaleidoscope is here to extend support and nurturing care to children unable to express themselves, adolescents facing difficulty with body image, adults trying to manage work and personal life, couples facing marital issues or senior citizens alone at home and more.
